Project Title: #13.1 Halloween Cat-urday Skirt
Short Project Description: While at Joanns yesterday, I was inspired by the On-Sale Halloween fabric to make a skirt for Halloween. Especially since Halloween is on a Saturday this year!
Projected Deadline: October 30
Pattern(s) Used: Miscy’s Basic Elastic Skirt, possibly modified to a fixed waist
Materials needed: Halloween fabric (Debbie Mumm Cats On Orange), Black fabric for ruffles, Orange rick rack… Either elastic or buttons & zipper.
Challenges or obstacles: Depending on which stage I am on, this might be my first fix-waist skirt to attempt.

Short Project Description: pugsushi is in love with the design of my Circus JSK, so I am making her one in purple!

Pattern(s) Used: Vogue V8184 (view B), with added tiered ruffles (like my Circus JSK)
Materials needed: Solid purple fabric, ladder lace, purple ribbon, white piping, zipper
Challenges or obstacles: This is second time to use this pattern. With the addition of a ruffler foot and a rolled hem foot, this should go faster!

We couldn't have had a more beautiful day for a picnic! Thank you, xochismallbear for organizing this and feeding us AND FOR THE GOODIE BAGS! You truly put my sewing skills to shame! :sweatdrop: It was 85 degrees with a light breeze. So nice that I don't think I even broke a sweat. It is really making my look forward to this fall, when the weather is even more favorable! We snacked and visited on the lawn of the Denton County Courthouse. Evidently, that is perfectly normal because there were a ton of people doing the same thing!

Since I forgot my camera, I borrowed a pic from insecurelobster .

I didn't know about loli_valentines  until I was told about it yesterday at one of our meetups. I was specifically told about this post.



I am deeply touched and this made my morning.  Whoever you are, you are more than welcome to grab your sewing machine play in our living room with us anytime!

Did you make changes from original plan? Yes, instead of finding suitable fruity iron-ons, I made my own by scanning my OP and using iron-on transfer paper for dark colored fabric.
Did you discover something you want to share? InkJet Transfer Paper for Dark Fabric is awesome!! It made it really easy to make my own coordinating accessories. I will definately use it again!

Short Project Description: A simple, lined totebag to match my Bodyline Fruits Parlor Replica. Though they are nowhere near the same, I was completely inspired by the actual Bodyline Fruits Parlor tote that I saw here, on cheshirec8's Poupee Girl.

Last night, Bubbles and I went to the Ringling Brothers Circus with my niece and her mom. This outfit has been over a month in the making. I have been waiting to wear it and now I finally got to!!

After a long day at work, poor Robyn and I were running late for the circus. Luckily we found FREE parking not too far from the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Did you make changes from original plan? Yes, I had to go buy bigger rick rack, since the teeny-size was too small.
Did you discover something you want to share? YES! This is a great way to replace missing bows, if you can find suitable fabric.
How happy are you with the result? (in percentage, ie 60%, 100%, 20%) 95%, I might re-do the headband bow, but it is find for now. HOWEVER, I don't think I could have found any better fabric that wasn't the original print.

PROJECT REGISTRATION

Project Title: #11 "Oh No! I'm Missing A Bow!"
Short Project Description: I purchased scored a Bodyline Fruits Parlor Replica on egl_comm_sales and sadly, it was missing the front bow (I knew about it). However, the headband was included and still had its bow attached! Since the bow is constructed from two trimmed rectangles, I figured I would make two bows from what I had by adding more coordinating rectangles.
Projected Deadline: August 19, 2009
Pattern(s) Used: The headbow.
Materials needed: Coordinating fabric and trim.
Challenges or obstacles: Finding a suitable coordinating fabric.... WHICH WAS ALREADY IN MY STASH (after two trips to two different fabric stores)!! I couldn't find matching trim, so I picked out some teeny, black rick rack.

I am the proud new owner of this lovely Bodyline OP!! It is even more beautiful in person. I can't wait to wear it in SF!! I purchased it from this lovely person on LJ in the egl_comm_sales community.

So, so giddy! I just bought some socks from Sock Dreams to go with it! <3 <3 <3

In anticipation of our anniversary trip to San Francisco later this month, I have decided to cast-on a shrug! This will be knit from my ginormous stash, so I will pick out colors when I get home.  I am either going to start “Eyelet Shruglet” (ravelry link) from 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders or “Shrug This” (ravelry link) from One-Skein Wonders. Either way, I hope it will be a quick knit. It all depends on what yarn calls to me.

I have some sparkley white in worsted weight, that was meant for a sweater that never was, that I might use. Depending on how long it takes me to knit one of these, I might knit a second for a swap item….  :wink, wink:

Today, I went shopping with Bubbles and her husband. I also decided it was going to be a frilly day, so I wore my newly completed Very Cherry Ruffle Skirt, which I will post details at the end.

Project Title: #10 Very Cherry Ruffle Skirt (registration)

Project Start Date: July 31, 2009
Planned Finish Date: whenever
Actual Finish Date: August 1, 2009
Did you make changes from original plan? Yes, I bought some red with white polka dot fabric to follow the fabric scheme of the pattern.
Did you discover something you want to share? YES!  This pattern will fit a 34w, 46hip easily without any alteration!!
How happy are you with the result? (in percentage, ie 60%, 100%, 20%) 95%, The next time I make this skirt (yes, next time) I will cut out twice as much seam ruffle, because I <3 ruffles and to make it look more like the one pictured in the US GLB #2.

AND, I have completed a purse that doesn’t match anything yet. :o( It is one of those little paint-your-own wooden suitcases from Joanns with a custom purse handle, beaded by me. I designed the logo and printed it out on t-shirt transfer paper, which I ironed onto the painted surface. It is all sealed with Krylon clearcoat.
