Project Title: #13.1 Halloween Cat-urday Skirt
Short Project Description: While at Joanns yesterday, I was inspired by the On-Sale Halloween fabric to make a skirt for Halloween. Especially since Halloween is on a Saturday this year!

Pattern(s) Used: J9isawesome’s Cutsew Tutorial

Challenges or obstacles: I’ve never made a cutsew before… BUT, I will have my serger by then!

Short Project Description: I think you saw the original right? Just no sweetheart waistline, but pretty much a replica of that in every other way :)

Pattern(s) Used: None, winging it for now
Materials needed: Blue bows fabric,
Challenges or obstacles: Deciding which to make… Skirt or JSK?
Project Title: #15 Shower Curtain Skirt

Pattern(s) Used: Vogue V8184 (view B), with added tiered ruffles (like my Circus JSK)
Materials needed: Solid purple fabric, ladder lace, purple ribbon, white piping, zipper
Challenges or obstacles: This is second time to use this pattern. With the addition of a ruffler foot and a rolled hem foot, this should go faster!

Friday
I dressed up in my Fruits Parlor Replica and had a total blast!! So many complements on my outfit and a lot of questions to. I even had the most adorable little girl ask me if she could take my picture, while on the Alcatraz tour. Luckily, the weather was absolutely amazing!! We also visited Japantown and spent way too much money. PuriKura is now my FAVORITE thing! I can't wait for a DSi version to hit the US.

FRIDAY PICS @ FLICKR!!
Saturday
Sadly, it was ugly and miserable outside so I didn't wear any Loli. I actually had to go and buy a heavier sweatshirt! After breakfast, we walked to Chinatown and did a little shopping and sightseeing. I think the pug in the doorway was the cutest thing, but he was a little snobby. ;o) We also came across some great action figures... Who knew Naruto had allies in the DC & Marvel universes?
After we were done in Chinatown, we ventured back to Japantown for lunch and to do some more shopping. We ate at Isobune, where the sushi was alacarte, served on a train of boats! Each plate had a color, depending on its price.
SATURDAY PICS @ FLICKR
Sunday
We walked around the USS Pampanito and SS Jeremiah O'Brien. Then, we journeyed down to In-N-Out Burger for some awesome lunch! Then we walked to Ghirardeli Square and bought chocolates.
After a nap, we headed out for dinner and I FINALLY got my REAL RAMEN!!! Woot!
SUNDAY PICS @ FLICKR
Monday
And then we had to come home... :o(

Project Title: #12 I Want One Of Those Totes
Short Project Description: A simple, lined totebag to match my Bodyline Fruits Parlor Replica. Though they are nowhere near the same, I was completely inspired by the actual Bodyline Fruits Parlor tote that I saw here, on cheshirec8's Poupee Girl.
Project Started: August 17, 2009
Projected Deadline: August 20, 2009
Pattern(s) Used: The standard Morsbag pattern.
Materials needed: Pink w black polkadots fabric, black fabric, iron-on sundaes and fruit
Challenges or obstacles: Finding the right iron-ons
UPDATE
Progress: 90%.
Problems encountered that halted progress: I just need to find suitable iron-on embellishments.
Ways considered to solve the problem: GO SHOPPING!!! Joanns and Hobby Lobby had better watch out!
Questions for the community: Since my belt/sash placement is so high on this JSK , how would I go about attaching it?

Last night, Bubbles and I went to the Ringling Brothers Circus with my niece and her mom. This outfit has been over a month in the making. I have been waiting to wear it and now I finally got to!!
I <3 silly pictures!
After a long day at work, poor Robyn and I were running late for the circus. Luckily we found FREE parking not too far from the Fort Worth Convention Center.
My Outfit Rundown
Blouse & Petticoat: In The Starlight
JSK: Handmade by Me
Purse: Alexandra Bartlett
Socks: SockDreams
Same Ol’ Shoes: Delisted
Jewelry & Hairthings: SamMoon, Burlington & Handmade by Me
I had forgotten how much FUN the circus was!! We might have to make this a tradition every year!
UPDATE: Granted, I had no idea about the training methods, I didn't intend this post to make me feel like crap. :sigh:
Next time, I will take in a show where the people are the stars. Please keep the cruelty comments to yourself, I already feel like an a-hole.

Project Title: #11 "Oh No! I'm Missing A Bow!" (registration)
Project Start Date: August 8, 2009
Planned Finish Date: before August 19, 2009 (my trip to San Fran)
Actual Finish Date: August 11, 2009
Did you make changes from original plan? Yes, I had to go buy bigger rick rack, since the teeny-size was too small.
Did you discover something you want to share? YES! This is a great way to replace missing bows, if you can find suitable fabric.
How happy are you with the result? (in percentage, ie 60%, 100%, 20%) 95%, I might re-do the headband bow, but it is find for now. HOWEVER, I don't think I could have found any better fabric that wasn't the original print.

Project Title: #11 "Oh No! I'm Missing A Bow!"
Short Project Description: I
Projected Deadline: August 19, 2009
Pattern(s) Used: The headbow.
Materials needed: Coordinating fabric and trim.
Challenges or obstacles: Finding a suitable coordinating fabric.... WHICH WAS ALREADY IN MY STASH (after two trips to two different fabric stores)!! I couldn't find matching trim, so I picked out some teeny, black rick rack.

So, so giddy! I just bought some socks from Sock Dreams to go with it! <3 <3 <3
In anticipation of our anniversary trip to San Francisco later this month, I have decided to cast-on a shrug! This will be knit from my ginormous stash, so I will pick out colors when I get home. I am either going to start “Eyelet Shruglet” (ravelry link) from 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders or “Shrug This” (ravelry link) from One-Skein Wonders
. Either way, I hope it will be a quick knit. It all depends on what yarn calls to me.
I have some sparkley white in worsted weight, that was meant for a sweater that never was, that I might use. Depending on how long it takes me to knit one of these, I might knit a second for a swap item…. :wink, wink:
Today, I went shopping with Bubbles and her husband. I also decided it was going to be a frilly day, so I wore my newly completed Very Cherry Ruffle Skirt, which I will post details at the end.

Oh! I’ve also signed up at Polyvore! Check out my little profile! I will be adding some of these outfits later! You can also find me on Poupee Girl!
PROJECT COMLPETION
Project Title: #10 Very Cherry Ruffle Skirt (registration)
Project Start Date: July 31, 2009
Planned Finish Date: whenever
Actual Finish Date: August 1, 2009
Did you make changes from original plan? Yes, I bought some red with white polka dot fabric to follow the fabric scheme of the pattern.
Did you discover something you want to share? YES! This pattern will fit a 34w, 46hip easily without any alteration!!
How happy are you with the result? (in percentage, ie 60%, 100%, 20%) 95%, The next time I make this skirt (yes, next time) I will cut out twice as much seam ruffle, because I <3 ruffles and to make it look more like the one pictured in the US GLB #2.
AND, I have completed a purse that doesn’t match anything yet. :o( It is one of those little paint-your-own wooden suitcases from Joanns with a custom purse handle, beaded by me. I designed the logo and printed it out on t-shirt transfer paper, which I ironed onto the painted surface. It is all sealed with Krylon clearcoat.
Well, I’m off! I have a date to Harry Potter with my Prince Charming!
